Tayabas City


"Tayabas, Quezon" the old name.

On March 18, 2007, Republic Act No. 9398, An Act converting the Municipality of Tayabas in the province of Quezon into a component City tobe known as City of Tayabas, was enacted into law. on July 14, 2007, the municipality held a plebiscite to ratify the conversation of the aid act, with the residents voting in the favor of the move, although there was a low turnout of voters for the plebiscite.


Mayohan sa Tayabas Festival

Tayabasin celebrates a week long activity which showcases the best in tayabas arts, products culture and tradition. this celebration commences Every 7th until 15th day of May which is called "Mayohan sa Tayabas Festival". Highlight of this event is the Tiangge sa Mayohan, where he tayabasins craftsman's, artist and enterpreneurs would gather together and showcase the genuine works of tayabasins, this festivity culminates in the traditional Hagisan ng Suman which coincides with the feast day of San Isidro, the patron Saint of farmers and laborers.
